 Straight forward and straight to the point are two phrases that describe the music written and performed by Alyssa Guarino. Having musical inspirations at a young age, Alyssa decided one day to just enroll in a guitar class and within a short amount of time, started writing songs. It also didn’t take long for her songs and her voice to stand out amoungst her peers, which landed her numerous vocal solos and acoustic performances in several high school productions. Being a leader, Alyssa is always working on perfecting her craft in not only music, but dance. Being recognized as a talented leader, Alyssa’s "hard - work" attitude led her to being the captain of her high school dance team and music arranger for her high school’s choir ensemble. In addition, Alyssa won the vocal competiton at the high school she attended in Frederick, Colorado playing original songs in a spin off of American Idol called ‘Frederick Idol’ .  Writing songs from the heart and her beliefs, she presents music that leaves you singing through a catchy hook and lyrics that make you question your own life. Taking on such issues as heartache, independance, and morality, Alyssa takes her stand for what she believes in without judgement or compromise. Her inspirations come from God, her own life, and relationships that she has encountered that jeopardized her own values.Playing piano and guitar has led Alyssa to develop her own musical style that can fit in not only acoustic pop, but also in today’s Top 40 mainstream. Applying her influences such as Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles, and Billy Joel, her songwriting style leaves her listeners enthralled while also wanting more.  Performing and recreating her music live has never been an obstacle. Whether playing for a large crowd at a theatre or an intimate coffee house, Alyssa reels in the audience in by her sincere and honest approach on the stage. ‘Keeping it real’ is how she expresses herself to her fans and Alyssa is in no doubt the real deal. Her down to earth personality off stage compliments her personality onstage and she has no fear entertaining a crowd.Releasing her self-titled CD in December 2009, Alyssa’s purpose remains is to continue to capture her audience by more performances, add to her growing fan base, and get noticed in the music industry. With the support of an indendent label, Alyssa is an artist who cannot be overlooked and with her ‘I can do it’ attitude, her music will continue to get heard and captivate an already growing audience. |
